"It's a Jewish word, like 'schmuck.'" "What does it mean 'schmuck'?" " A schmuck is someone who does something that you don't agree with." "Teach me another." "'Putz.'" "What does that mean?" "It's like 'schmuck.'" "Teach me another." "'Schmendrik.'" "What does that mean?" "It's also like 'schmuck.'" "Do you know any words that are not like 'schmuck'?" He pondered for a moment. "'Shalom,'" he said, "but that's Hebrew, not Yiddish. The Eskimos have four hundred words for snow and the Jews have four hundred words for schmuck."

schemozzle.
I just typed in 'sch' into this dictionary program I have on mac that I got from some widgets download page... I would say a few hundred words popped up.. I would also say a good portion of them are variations on one word.. for example:
schedular
schedule
scheduled
scheduled caste
scheduled casters
scheduler(s)
scheduling
yada yada yada
(did I use that correctly?)
schwa | sh wä| noun Phonetics the unstressed central vowel (as in a mom e nt a go), represented by the symbol (ə) in the International Phonetic Alphabet. ORIGIN late 19th cent.: from German, from Hebrew šěwā'.

Re: sch....
Fri, June 15, 2007 - 1:37 PMIn linguistics, specifically phonetics and phonology, schwa can mean:
An unstressed and toneless neutral vowel sound in any language, often but not necessarily a mid-central vowel. Such vowels are often transcribed with the symbol <ə>, regardless of their actual phonetic value.
The mid-central vowel sound (rounded or unrounded) in the middle of the vowel chart, stressed or unstressed. In IPA phonetic transcription, it is written as <ə>. In this case the term mid-central vowel may be used instead of schwa to avoid ambiguity.
etc.
